We don’t provide teachers or school books or lesson plans.
Instead, we provide the services and infrastructure kids need to get to school in the first place, so their schools are accessible. So they are safe and healthy places to be while they're learning.
Without these fundamentals - things we take for granted here in Australia - getting that education can be extremely difficult.
Like Alani* in Vanuatu, who can’t even get to school because of a flooded river.
Like Manuel* in Timor-Leste, who can’t drink a glass of clean water because the school’s water source is contaminated.
And like Chanmony* in Cambodia, who contracted a diarrhoeal disease because her school simply doesn’t have the sinks or taps for her to clean her hands.

Your donation will support projects like the LOW COST BRIDGE project in Vanuatu.
In the coming year EWB will prototype low-cost bridging solutions, sourcing local materials and able to be maintained by the community.
The first of these will be built near a school heavily impacted by weather events that swell waters and make it unsafe for children to cross the waterway to attend school.
You'll be supporting projects like the CERAMIC WATER FILTERS project, which aims to improve water security and health outcomes in rural Timor-Leste.
The first low-cost ceramic water filters were installed in a school in Timor-Leste’s Manatutu district in March 2022. You can help install more of these in more rural schools.
And you'll be supporting the FUTURECOOK project, which will trial a safe cooking program using renewable energy to help Cambodian children eat well and stay safe from the severe particulate pollution of existing charcoal stoves in schools.
Your donation will also support projects like the ACCESSIBLE WASHING STATION project in Cambodia.
Already successfully delivered and tested in medical centres in rural Cambodia, these foot-pedal operated washing stations are ready to trial in rural schools that in some cases have lacked even basic sinks and taps until now.
